Ingredients

  • 4-6 Gluten-Free Bread Slices Can sub in regular brioche, challah, or sourdough bread
  • 1 cup Eggnog
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp Salt
  • 3-4 tbsp Butter can be salted or unsalted
  • 2-3 tbsp Maple Syrup for drizzling over each French Toast

Instructions

  • In a medium size shallow bowl mix the eggnog, egg, cinnamon, nutmeg, and the salt until combined really well.
  • If the bread is not pre-sliced, then slice it into thick pieces.
  • Dip the bread into the eggnog mixture and let it sit for a minute to absorb it. Then flip the bread and let it sit again. If the bread is thinly sliced you can just dip and flip right away.
  • Add the butter to a large skillet and fry the bread until it's golden brown on both sized.
  • Remove to a plate and repeat with the other bread slices.
  • Drizzle the bread with maple syrup as desired.

Notes

If the bread is sliced on the thicker side let it sit in the eggnog mixture for a minute. You want the bread to absorb most of the liquid so it's nice and soft and not dry.
For gluten-free the Greenlite Classic Artisan Bread is a great option.
