Ingredients

  • 2 Black Tea Bags
  • 1 cup Boiling Water
  • 1/8 -1/4 tsp Cinnamon, ground Start with the lesser amount, especially if you are adding cinnamon sugar to the top.
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 cup Milk/Non-Dairy Milk
  • 1-2 tsp Sugar
  • Cinnamon Sugar (optional)

Instructions

  • Boil 1 cup of water.
  • Place tea bags into the mug and pour the boiling water over the tea bags. Let the tea steep for 5-7 minutes. You want a nice strong tea.
  • Add the cinnamon, vanilla extract and milk to a small pitcher or measuring cup.
  • Heat the milk until steaming (not boiling), then froth with a frother or whisk.
  • Remove the tea bags and add the desired amount of sugar to the tea. Stir to combine.
  • Pour the frothed milk over the tea.
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar if desired.

Notes

Two tea bags give a nice strong flavor to the tea. If you want to use 1 tea bag reduce the amount of milk you are adding.
Start with the lesser amount of cinnamon as it can be overpowering for some and especially if you are topping the latte with cinnamon sugar or plain cinnamon. You can always add more if needed.
Maple syrup or a simple syrup and be substituted for the sugar. It will give it a smoother taste.
