Pre-heat oven to 400°F, then line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set Aside.
Brown the ground beef until no longer pink, add taco seasoning and water (if using a homemade mix). Alternately follow the directions on the taco seasoning packet.
While the ground beef is cooking, chop the tomatoes, onions, cilantro, avocados, jalapeños, and shred the lettuce.
Grab the baking sheet and add a light layer of the tortilla chips.
Top tortilla chips lightly with cheese, some ground beef, some beans, and a bit of salsa.
Continue to layer chips, cheese, beef, beans, salsa until you run out of meat and beans. Then top final layer with tortillas and cheese.
Bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
Top with the tomatoes, onions, cilantro, avocados, lettuce, etc.
You can dollop sour cream, guacamole on top of the veggies or serve it on the side.
