Instructions

  • Remove the pork spareribs from the packaging, pat them dry then cut them in half to fit your slow cooker.
  • Liberally sprinkle both side of the ribs with the Sweet Rib Rub, then place them into the slow cooker.
  • Cook the ribs on high for 4 hours, or on high for 7 hours.
  • Remove the ribs from the slow cooker and discard the liquid.
  • Pre-heat the grill to 400°F.
  • Place the ribs onto the grill and brush them liberally with the barbecue sauce, flip and do the same for the other side.
  • Let them cook for approximately 5 minutes then remove them from the grill and serve with more bbq sauce as desired.

Notes

The rib rub amounts are estimates, you can sprinkle more or less onto them as desired. I like to use this Sweet Rib Rub.
For easier handling you can cut the ribs into sections before placing them into the crockpot.
The ribs go into the crockpot without any liquid as they will make their own as they cook.
If you don't want to use the rub, you can simply make a mixture with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and a bit of brown sugar in a small bowl. Then rub it all over both sides of the ribs then place the ribs into the crockpot.
