The best bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich has a dreamy garlic mayo in my opinion. This blt sandwich recipe is flavorful and perfect when summer tomatoes are in season. Whether you use regular sliced bread, sourdough, or gluten-free bread, this recipe will be the perfect lunch or picnic sandwich. The garlic mayo recipe is easy to make and comes together in minutes. If you are a sandwich lover like me you may find this Gluten-Free Italian Sandwich/Sub or this Prosciutto and Pesto Grilled Cheese as other great sandwich options.

Ingredients
Bread – Use your favorite sliced bread. It can be white, sourdough, or gluten-free bread.
Lettuce – Buttercrunch lettuce is tender and delicious for this or you can use a green leaf lettuce.
Tomato – A large beefsteak tomato, make sure it’s nice and ripe
Bacon – Use your favorite brand
Mayo – Duke’s mayonnaise is delicious here but you can use your favorite brand. Do not use Miracle Whip
Garlic – You will need 1 small clove of garlic
Black Pepper
Chives (Optional) – Fresh chives add a slight bit of onion flavor to the garlic mayo but it is not necessary if you don’t have any
Instructions

Make The Garlic Mayo
In a small bowl combine 1/4 c of mayonnaise, 1 small garlic clove minced/crushed, 1/2 tsp of chives (optional), and 1/8 tsp of black pepper. Mix well and set aside.

Cook The Bacon
Place the bacon on a parchment lined baking sheet and place it into a cold 400°F oven. Bake for 10 minutes or to desired level of crispy you like.
Toast the bread either in a toaster or in a dry skillet if it doesn’t fit into a toaster.
Once the bacon is cooked, remove it from the baking sheet and place it on a paper towel lined plate to catch the grease.

Slice the tomato into thick slices and wash and dry the lettuce.

Take one slice of bread and spread the garlic mayo onto it, then top it with the lettuce, tomato, and bacon. Sprinkle the top with a bit of sea salt flakes. Add the remaining piece of bread to the top of the sandwich.

Cut in half if desired.
