Years ago on a trip to Greece I had my first authentic gyro. When they were taking our order they asked if we wanted French fries in it and we looked at each other and said “yes, of course”. Fast forward to this mediterranean lamb bowl recipe, it has all the flavors reminiscent of a gyro. It starts with seasoned lamb burgers which are grilled to perfection, alongside grilled red onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumbers. The whipped garlic feta compliments all of the dish and alongside it, are the French fries. Salt – Use fine sea salt or regular table salt

Black Pepper

Dried Oregano

Red Onion – One large red onion

Extra Virgin Olive Oil – To add to the whipped feta but also to coat the red onions before grilling.

Feta – Use a block of plain feta in water. Do not buy the pre-crumbled feta

Lemon Zest – You will zest one whole lemon

Lemon Juice – 1 tsp of lemon juice, use a fresh lemon for the best flavor
