A shallow bowl filled with milk, egg, and cinnamon.

Add the sliced bread to the custard in batches. Let it sit in the custard for a few minutes, then flip the sliced bread and let it soak in the custard for another 1-2 minutes. Repeat as needed until all the bread is fried.

Bread slices, sitting in a milk and cinnamon mixture before frying.

In a large skillet add enough butter to coat the bottom of it once it’s melted.

Remove the sliced bread from the custard letting excess batter run off, then place the bread into the skillet. Cook as many slices as you can in the skillet.

Fry the one side of the bread until lightly crispy and brown approximately 1 minute, then flip and brown the second side.

Repeat using the rest of the slices, adding more butter as needed.
